Vacationing in Bar Harbor, Maine and think I found the world's best kept secret. You know the hassle of trying to snake a motorhome down a tiny New England street, or unhooking a toad and trying to find a rare parking space! Well, the fine folks at Bar Harbor, Maine and haven lots of the agony away with a FREE shuttle between all of the major RV parks and downtown. From there, you can connect to six other routes to take in all of the sights in the area. And it is TOTALLY FREE. It sure saved us some money, since our last trip there, when I did not know about this service, cost us about $30 EACH WAY to town from the campground. I am told that the service is subsidized by LL Bean. Thank you Bean for this great service!
That IS a good service. I used to vacation in Bar Harbor and if you wanted to roam downtown you pretty much had to stay in lodging downtown. You can drive around for an hour without finding a parking spot.
